Remember - Personal Reminiscences", ISBN 0953147908 - a collection
of memories from six Tilehurst residents. Tilehurst was very different then. It was a small, sparsely populated village separated from Reading by open countryside. Today it has outgrown its 'village' description, and has become a very busy suburb of Reading, popular with commuters and their families. A second book published in 1999 - "More Of The Tilehurst We Remember",
ISBN 0953147916 - contains memories of 24 local 'celebrities', including
Norcot Road animal lover, Doris Gash MBE, who now lives on Hayling Island. This second project was undertaken by the group when they realised that much of Tilehurst's history is undocumented. Another book is "Tilehurst" by Sue Handscomb. The books are also available from:
