Armour Road History Group

In October 2000, the group received a Lottery grant towards the cost of producing a book on the history of Armour Road.

"A hamlet called Harmour: the history of Armour Road"
Mike Cooper, assisted by Janet Bond
Armour Road History Group, 2001
60pages, with photos and maps

The group started in 1998 when, while studying old maps, it was found that settlements dated back to the 15th century. The name derives from Anglo-Saxon and means "a hill with ponds".

Every Armour Road household received a copy, and limited additional copies are available for sale now at £4.

For further information, contact the chair, Mrs Janet Bond at 3 Cottington Close, Kingsclere, NEWBURY RG20 5NR
